ALISON GALLANT
Alison Gallant has a doctorate in Narrative Theory from Ohio State University. In addition to writing a dissertation that nobody has ever read, she’s written a lot of other stuff that nobody has ever read. During grad school, she worked as a journalist on a daily newspaper in upstate New York, covering the crime beat and made up crime stories when news was slow.
She felt the call of the West and moved to San Francisco where she worked at an investment bank to support her habit of writing material no one reads. She wrote humorous essays, a couple of which were (somehow) published by St. Martin’s Press. She also wrote and performed sketch comedy and directed two short comedy films, one of which screened at the San Francisco International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival.
After having had too much fun in SF, Alison moved down the coast to LA to pursue her dreams of pursuing Angelina Jolie and writing for the screen. She crossed paths with Ms. Jolie once at a party, but never made eye contact. Alison did, however, achieve one of her dreams when she was commissioned to write screenplays by two major producers and wrote for an FX sitcom. She also worked as a copywriter where she learned the ways of the dark art of advertising.
In the treatment world, she’s had the great pleasure of working with some phenomenal talent, including Academy-award, Emmy-award, and Clio-award winning directors.
